Abstract
In this paper, the static analysis of laminated composite plates with the laminated stiffeners is studied by proposed finite elements based on the first-order shear deformation equivalent single layer theory. In which, the plate is modelled by the 3-node triangle elements having a bubble node located at the centroid. The plate transverse shear strains are independently interpolated by using the shear-locking removal technique MITC3+. The plate membrane and bending strains are smoothed on the sub-cells defined by connecting the vertex nodes with the bubble node. Therefore, the stiffness matrices of the proposed CS-MITC3+ plate elements are computed by integrating on the edges of the sub-cells. The stiffeners are simulated by the 2-node Timoshenko beam elements. The robustness of the suggested finite elements is evaluated through the deflection computation of several stiffened laminated composite plates. Numerical results show that the proposed approach gives the deflections in good agreement with other references.
