Abstract
This methodology chapter explains all aspects of the study design. Most importantly, the rationale for conducting ‘Islamic’ legal research using a ‘normative’ legal framework is canvassed in detail. The underlying framework, the participant sample, the author as an insider–outsider researcher, the limitations and challenges of the study, and the processes of data collection, transcription, and analysis are also reported in this chapter.
