Abstract
This conclusions chapter combines common themes and messages present in the preceding chapters of this book. It emphasizes how international laws generally have been put into place to protect the wellbeing of unaccompanied youth who are refugees, migrants or seeking asylum in another country. However, in most countries the implementation of those laws have not been sufficient to ensure that young people’s rights have been protected, as mandated in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Authors provide recommendations for improvement in the care and treatment of unaccompanied youth.
