Abstract

This chapter has two purposes. First, it provides historical accounts of the events of 2010’s from the perspective of ‘queer history’. Three case studies: Gezi Park protests of 2013, Pride ban of 2016, and Indefinite ban of LGBT events of 2017 are the central historical concerns of this work. Such historicizing is vital because it disrupts the normative historiographies that actively erases LGBT voices and concerns. Second, it analyzes how queer discourses talked about time and temporality, what it means for agency and futurity.
