Abstract
“We’re back.” In practical terms, Trudeau’s infamous October 2015 statement about Canada’s role on the international stage translated into a declaration that Canada would run for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council in the 2020 campaign, and that, in the near term, it would deploy troops to a UN peace operation somewhere in Africa.
