Abstract
This paper mainly presents the extraction and simplification of the end-to-end stray capacitance matrix based on the dry-type smoothing reactor. The method of extracting and simplifying the capacitance matrix of a reactor is introduced in detail through an example. The capacitance matrix is extracted by finite element analysis software and is simplified to an end-to-end stray capacitance C. Two kinds of lightning overvoltage analysis model of three reactors in series are established respectively in the transient analysis software and the simulation results verify the correctness of the extraction and simplification method. Through this method, the end-to-end stray capacitance matrix of a DC dry smoothing reactor prototype is obtained, which is independently designed by our institute and will be applied to the Ultra High Voltage Direct Current (UHVDC) project. The stray capacitance of the reactor is measured by an impedance analyzer and the simulated results are in agreement with the experimental ones, which again show that the method is proper.
