Abstract
The following article presents a concept of a vision system for acquiring results from analog gauges. System uses machine vision techniques combined with modern algorithms of image processing. During it’s operation it measures the angle defined by the gauge’s tip and divides it by the angle defined by far left and far right lines of dial’s graduation. The fraction obtained in this way is multiplied by the current scope of work, what gives the final result. In addition to a more detailed explanation of the operation of the system, the article also provides an explanation of the basic methods of image analysis and processing, as well as the results of the research carried out with the help of the system along with their commentary.
