Abstract
Advances in robotic technology is stimulating growth in new treatment mechanism by enhancing patient outcomes and helping reduce healthcare costs, while providing alternate care apparatus. Provision of care by assistive therapeutic robots has increasingly grown in the past decade. Although the healthcare industry has been lagging in the use of assistive robots; the use of assistive robots in the manufacturing industry has been a norm for a long time. The vulnerable population of patients with illnesses, cognition challenges, and disabilities are some of the causes for the delay in the use of assistive therapeutic robots in healthcare. In this paper we explore the various types of assistive robots and their use in the healthcare industry.
