Abstract

Although recently has been an expansion in building of highways in Bosnia and Herzegovina, two-way roads are still a very important part of traffic network. They continue to be the main link between cities, with significant traffic loads on particular sections. Accordingly, these roads should meet some of the basic requirements in terms of operational performances and safety. In this paper, performance characteristics of one section of the main road has been analyzed from the aspect of average speed of traffic flow. The analysis was carried out with different methodologies that are in use in the world and in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The research is focused on comparing all results obtained with different methodologies in order to find the most applicable methodology for traffic conditions in B&H.
