Abstract
Several depression-focused psychotherapies (Friedman in Treatment of psychiatric disorders. American Psychiatric Press Inc, Washington, DC, pp. 409–431, 2007 [1]) have been developed to be time-limited treatments. They have an explicit goal of helping the individual achieve rapid relief of depressive symptoms, in as much as they are treatments comparable to pharmacotherapy in time course and efficacy.
