Abstract
Trihexyphenidyl HCl is a synthetic antispasmodic drug used as an adjunct in the treatment of parkinsonism. It relaxes smooth muscle, both directly and indirectly through inhibition of the parasympathetic nervous system. Its actions are similar to those of atropine, although undesirable side effects are usually less frequent and less severe than with atropine.
