Abstract
This chapter focuses upon part of a major research project and discusses a small qualitative study of doctors’, nurses’ and teachers’ conceptions of the nature of persons. It concentrates upon moral, formal and commonsense conceptions of persons, showing how past experience and professional education influence the acquisition of the conceptions of persons held by these professionals.
