Abstract
The new rules of economic life drive America’s future. The two-earner family is more important to predictions about what will happen to the baby boom than any other factor except the inevitable, inexorable aging of the generation. The two-earner family shapes the baby boom’s work life, its home life, and even its psychological well-being.
