Abstract

In this chapter, we will discuss the effect of relatively low-energy photons, those of energy near the visible region. The high-energy synchrotron-type radiation used with UPS, etc., was discussed in Chapter 3. Photons in the visible region of the spectrum are of most interest in their interaction with semiconductors, so this chapter will almost exclusively discuss semiconductor effects.
