Abstract
Although covalent graphite-fluorine compounds have been known for a long time, conductive graphite-fluorine intercalation compounds were discovered only recently.1 These new air-stable GICs exhibit high in-plane conductivity which, per unit weight, is twice that of copper. The repeat distances for stages n ≥ 1 can be described by the formula:
