Abstract
Managers and caregivers throughout the health care system are being asked to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of patient care while also maintaining or even reducing current levels of resource consumption. A principal strategy used to achieve these goals is to consider information as a corporate strategic resource and provide enhanced information management methods and tools to health care professionals. The idea is to use information to more effectively manage available resources.
