Abstract

The educator must acknowledge that sterile areas in the curriculum must be abandoned. Educational evolution has been proceeding too slowly. The educational environment must strive to become a forum where educator and student meet in an expanded capacity made possible by technology. A major effort must be made by every area in nursing education to produce a basic unit for information systems which creates living data sources (instead of texts) that are accessible by the simplest terminal. In this way, we can re-orient our entire learning objective—away from memory and toward judgment making (Weed, 1969).
