Part of the book series: Advances in Risk Analysis ((AIRA,volume 4))

Abstract

The estimation of parameter values from data is discussed. Sources of uncertainty other than statistical sources are identified. The impact of incompleteness of the data is addresses, with a particular example of two contrasting methods of estimating a common cause failure parameter.
