Abstract
The thermal diffusivity of cemented carbides was measured by the laser flash method up to 1470 K. All materials tested were based on WC-Co hardmetals. The influence of cobalt content, temperature and grain size was studied. In addition the effect of the substitution of WC by TiC, TaC and NbC and the substitution of cobalt by nickel was investigated.
