Preparation and Thermostability of Supported Metal Catalysts

  • Chapter
Sintering and Catalysis

Part of the book series: Materials Science Research ((MSR,volume 10))

Abstract

The different mechanisms that have been proposed for the sintering of supported metal particles are surveyed. It turns out that the mechanism of sintering depends on a number of properties that can vary appreciably in supported metal catalysts. Before the mechanism of sintering can be decided on, these properties must be known at least qualitatively.
