Abstract
During more than the half century since the development of the Mayo—Lewis equation for binary copolymerization7 based on the terminal kinetic model, an impressive amount of literature has been devoted to it.54 This large quantity of experimental data has mainly been used to determine reactivity ratios (r ij ) and resonance stabilization (Q) and electronegativity (e) parameters (see Section 2.9). A number of methods can be found in the copolymer literature for calculating reactivity ratios from copolymer composition and initial comonomer concentrations.
