Abstract
Partial reduction of unsaturated oils by heterogeneous catalytic reduction is an important way of modifying such materials. Each year millions of tons of soybean oil and other vegetable oils containing oleic, linoleic, and linolenic acid are reduced. Fish oils with polyunsaturated C18, C20, and C22 acids are subject to similar processing.
