Abstract
It is the ultimate goal of studies underway at the UCLA Cardiovascular Research Laboratory to identify, in the intact functional cell, the content and exchange characteristics of the calcium (Ca) in the various subcellular organelles. Until this is done a final, comprehensive model of excitation-contraction coupling processes as they perform and interrelate in vivo cannot be realized.
