Miscellaneous Grafted Copolymers

  • Chapter
Polymer Blends and Composites

Abstract

The first graft copolymers were synthesized in the 1930’s, and since then several different classes of materials have been developed. Chapter 3 considered graft copolymers designed for toughness and impact resistance. The present discussion centers on the synthesis, morphology, and physical and mechanical behavior of miscellaneous graft copolymers, with some emphasis on heavily grafted materials. In general, two major routes to grafting have been examined.
