Abstract
DNA microarrays are an exciting new development in the field of genomics research. For the first time, scientists have gained a more comprehensive view of the genome than had been possible in the past. Rather than investigating one or two genes, researchers can now view the expression of thousands of genes at one time. However, this giant step forward has also arrived with a proportionate set of problems, most notably the need for statisticians, biologists and computer scientists to unite to produce new methodologies to analyze the data.
