Abstract
The sun is the earth’s primary source of energy and heat. Temperature (or sensible heat) is the direct result of the radiation balance in any given atmospheric layer, though advective and sensible/latent heat factors complicate the direct relation between radiation and temperatures. This chapter will discuss energy and heat parameters. Chapter 8 will deal with the specific high temperatures relating to sharav conditions.
