Abstract
The previous chapter ended with a discussion of PC-based data acquisition. The context there was of acquisition boards mounted within the desktop computer. Obvious efficiencies and economies of this approach include the use of the computer’s already available chassis and power supplies—the boards need only be plugged into available internal PC slots.
