Abstract
Chronic pancreatitis is an inflammatory disease of the pancreas. It is distinguished from acute pancreatitis, in which the pathologic changes revert to normal following clinical remission of the attack, by progressive and inexhorable glandular destruction, even when the known etiology is corrected.
