Abstract
In this chapter we shall survey studies of the effects of children’s facial appearance on their disciplining by adults. Then we will look at research on adults’ reactions to infants’ facial appearance. Finally, we shall examine the questions of at what age children (a) can discriminate based on facial appearance and (b) demonstrate stereotyping based on facial appearance.
