Abstract
The Parent Involvement construct assessed the number of activities the boy does with his parent(s) and the amount of time they spend together. Two of the four indicators were based on the Family Activities Checklist (Patterson, 1982); one indicator was for the parents and one was for the child. The two additional indicators were both child self-report, one from the interview and one from the telephone interview. The indicators showed good convergent validity, ranging from .15 to .50.
