Abstract
At the initiative of seven professors of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the “Fachhochschule Wiesbaden” (Wiesbaden Polytechnic) the Ministry of Art and Science in Hesse (Germany) has established postgraduate studies. The aim of these postgraduate studies of CIM techniques is to impart knowledge with respect to computer applications in the field of mechanical engineering. In the case of CIM the idea of integration rather than the single CAX techniques is emphasised in the course of the studies.
