Abstract
Being competitive and continuing to compete effectively represent a major challenge for today’s manufacturing enterprise. In order to address this challenge, the enterprise must find new ways to lower product costs, improve product quality, reduce inventory, shorten lead times and respond more quickly to customer and market demands on a global basis.
