Abstract
Ever since Fisher (1935) popularized factorial designs, the construction of such designs in a single replicate has received a lot of attention. In fact, most of the classical results on factorial designs are centered around single replicate designs. In many practical situations, especially when the number of factors is large, it may be too expensive to have more than a single replicate. Even in situations where the available resources allow the use of several replicates, it may sometimes be convenient to start from single replicate designs and then to combine them to construct resolvable multireplicate designs whose properties, in terms of interaction efficiencies, can be analyzed from those of the constituent single replicate designs.
