Abstract
Having considered the information in the previous chapters, it is perhaps not too difficult to see why nursing finds leadership such a tough nut to crack. In today’s health care environments, the need for strong nursing leadership is greater than ever, and we simply cannot afford to remain confused and unsure about what leadership is or ambiguous about where we find it. We must be clear about the skills that we want leaders to possess, and about how we want them to operate in order to get the best results for patients and clients, the profession and our employers.
