Abstract
When methods of ordering are discussed one question immediately presents itself. Does one deliver from stock or make to order? It is clear from earlier paragraphs that the question must be formulated more clearly. The question must be asked about each product type: are the customers’ orders for this type to be met, in principle, directly from stock or not? Having regard to what has been stated in para. 4.2 concerning the ABC principle, is it not possible that a manufacturer will indeed deliver some of his products from stock (e.g., the A-types) but not others.
