Abstract
S. P. Rosenbaum did not live to complete Chapter 6. While his notes and drafts on remaining chapters are preliminary, they allow a glimpse into the complete book he envisioned. He planned to write four additional chapters. ‘Beyond Bloomsbury’ would have included a discussions of Leonard Woolf’s Ceylon memoirs, Forster’s Indian letters, Virginia Woolf on the Women’s Co-operative Guild, and memoirs by Desmond MacCarthy, John Maynard Keynes, and Mary MacCarthy. Later chapters were provisionally entitled ‘The War’, ‘Later Bloomsbury’, ‘Posthumous Bloomsbury’ (memoirs devoted to Club members and others, like Julian Bell, who had died) and ‘Post Bloomsbury’ (featuring the papers of later members of the Memoir Club including Quentin Bell, Jane Bussy, Julia Strachey, Frances Partridge, and Angelica Garnett among others).
