Abstract
The dynamic organisation of a distributed artificial intelligence (dai) system is generally executed with the assistance of a human expert. The purpose of our study is to define primitives to allow the system itself to adapt dynamically to this environment and to improve its performance. Each agent or group of agents has knowledge about itself and about other agents. By means of a mechanism of introspection, which relies upon an agent's own knowledge or on a consensus between several agents, agents may make decisions about the creation or the suppression of other agents. In addition to the definition of these primitives, we present their functionalities. Finally, we present an example of our approach.
