New protocols for electronic money

Abstract

This paper proposes 2 new protocols for electronic cash system, which give in a simple way, three main features:

  • non reusability of the coins

  • anonymity of the payments

  • divisibility of the coins, in order to be able to use a coin C in its totality, or subdividing it into several pieces.

This simplicity seems to be an advantage over other previous work on this issue. In this paper, the way to address divisibility, and to use a variant of Schnorr scheme is original (§3.2,3.3,3.4)

The last section gives information on practical aspects, like amount of computation, of storage, and of transmission.
