Abstract
Agile software development methods are gaining in popularity, especially in highly-volatile business sectors where time-to-market or time-to-implement is short and system requirements change rapidly. While some proponents of agile methods have declared process maturity as anathema, a significant number of mature organizations are interested in gaining the benefits of agile methods. How should agile methods integrate into the carefully orchestrated realm of process assets, SEPGs, and appraisals? This panel will highlight the benefits and pitfalls of agility, and discuss ways to investigate or implement agile methods without jeopardizing process improvement goals.
