Abstract
Grinding wheels of cubic boron nitride in vitrified bonds, with a grain content varying from 25 to 12.5 vol % in the tool working layer (100 and 50% concentration, respectively), have been developed and tested. In internal grinding of bushings of hardened steels the wheels with a reduced cubic boron nitride concentration have been found to provide a higher machining efficiency and about 2.5-times lower specific abrasive consumption in comparison to tools with 100% concentration.
