Abstract
Experimental and theoretical results of globular photonic crystals properties are presented. By using a simple one-dimensional model of glob-ular photonic crystals, we have obtained dispersion laws for three photonic branches. Dependencies of the group velocity and photonic effective mass from the wave vector have been analyzed. We have established that for photons, corresponding to the edge of photonic branch, velocity of moving goes to zero; such type photons we call slowtons. Coherent emission of slowtons may be generated inside globular photonic crystals if the energy of exciting photons outside the crystal is close to the edges of the forbidden zone (gap) of such a crystal. The conditions of dark and bound states existing and generating in globular photonic crystal have been established.
