Bosch | Smart and Digital Agriculture
Modern IT solutions and the Internet of Things (loT) enable farmers to save time, increase yields and reduce costs by networking equipment and automating workflows. In practice, however, the potential of smart and digital agriculture is often not exploited at present, as available digital services are usually offered as stand-alone solutions. In addition, these solutions are often incompatible with each other and therefore offer only a limited benefit. With Nevonex, Bosch now offers an open, manufacturer-independent digital system for agriculture. Via the technical infrastructure, the various providers of agricultural technology, operating resources or services along the entire agricultural process chain offer useful functions and tools for networking and automating equipment and workflows. The core of the system is the application software called Features. Each partner can access Nevonex's technical infrastructure and tools and develop a Feature. These Features can then be executed directly on the corresponding agricultural machines if a Nevonex-capable ECU is installed.
Claas | Many Additions to the 900 Forage Harvester Series
Claas is introducing the Jaguar 990 as the new top model of the 900 forage harvester series. The machine is also available with Terra Trac tape drive. With the new EU Stage V emission standard, the Jaguar 970 features a new engine. In addition, both 900 and 800 engines will receive a different operating concept with Cebis Touch and numerous other updates. With the Jaguar 990, the maximum engine output in the 900 series increases to 680 kW (925 HP). The MAN V12 has 24 l displacement and is also used in a version with 625 kW (850 HP) in the Jaguar 980. New to the Jaguar 970 is the straight six-cylinder MAN D4276, which delivers 581 kW (790 HP) from 16 l displacement. Almost 3 l displacement per cylinder promise a stable performance curve. The new Cebis with touchscreen allows the driver to quickly and conveniently access all machine functions. The most important of these are directly adjustable via switches in the armrest.
Case IH | Seventh Generation Magnum Tractors
After more than three decades and more than 150,000 tractors produced worldwide, Case IH is bringing the seventh generation of the Magnum series to Europe at Agritechnica, the Magnum AFS Connect. The range for the European market comprises the Magnum 280, Magnum 310, Magnum 340, Magnum 380 models and the top model, the Magnum 400, each with maximum output of up to 435 HP. The Magnum 400 is available exclusively with the PowerDrive 21/5 transmission and offers 40 and 50 km/h as a shift tractor at reduced engine speed. All models are equipped with an FPT Industrial 8.7-l six-cylinder turbocharged intercooler (Cursor 9) engine that uses the latest FPT Hi-eSCR2 exhaust technology to meet EU Stage V emission standards. The large 340, 380 and 400 models are also available as Rowtrac versions with tracked rear drives.
Walterscheid | Intelligent Powertrain Solutions
In addition to increasing the drive power, the acquisition of load and condition data is also moving into the focus of drive technology. With the Smart & Connected technology developed by Walterscheid Powertrain Group, sensors can be integrated into critical drive components to provide live data from the drive train. This feature complements the product range of drive components with adapted sensor systems and enables networking of the powertrain with, for example, the vehicle control system or a diagnostic system for remote maintenance. The load-oriented sensor data from the drive train, together with special evaluation algorithms, make an important contribution to increasing drive efficiency, overload detection and early detection and avoidance of wear-related failures. In the first pilot applications with customers, the offer based on a cardan shaft for integrated torque, speed and temperature measurement was proven in real field use.
Steyr | Tractor Profi with Six Cylinders
With the introduction of the Profi with six cylinders and the improved S-Control eight-speed powershift transmission, Steyr completes the well-known Profi tractor series. With turbocharger, charge air cooler, HI-eSCR exhaust technology and Power Plus engine power management, the 6.7-l FPT-Ecotech common rail diesel engine has a rated output of 145, a maximum output of 158 and even up to 175 HP with Power Plus. The transmission features a total of 24 gears in three groups for forward and reverse driving, plus a range of automatic functions that make the tractor even more efficient and significantly more comfortable to operate. The large overlap of the groups ensures that group changes are rarely necessary during work. For example, Group B can be used from 4.3 to 18.1 km/h without interruption of propulsion, making it ideal for most field, pasture and front loader operations.
Fendt | Consistent Operating Philosophy
FendtONE is the name of the new end-to-end Fendt platform, which works in the Fendt 314 Vario tractor as well as in the office or anywhere on mobile equipment. With this comprehensive approach, Fendt is combining the familiar operation of the tractor via the terminal with a platform for planning or control tasks that traditionally take place in the office. The view in the tractor terminal as well as the online display have a uniform, consistent look so that users can easily find their way around. With the system, the user can plan their orders or field data on a computer or smart device from any location and then transfer them to their tractor via mobile radio. Initially, smart farming applications are available, such as the Fendt Guide Sync lane guidance function for field data management and the documentation of tractor deployment and the Fendt Task Manager as an application for efficient task management. FendtONE also integrates the data exchange platform agrirouter. The user is thus free to choose his operating systems and machines, as there are open interfaces for data exchange between the various systems.
JCB | Teletruk with Electric Drive
The electric telescopic forklift JCB Teletruk will be presented at Agritechnica for agricultural and horticultural applications. The battery- powered JCB Teletruk 30-19E with 3 t maximum lifting capacity, 1900 kg at 2.0 m reach, is quiet and emission-free in the working environment, making it ideal for indoor tasks. The vehicle is also equipped with a fully sealed, weatherproof body that protects the powertrain and other key components from the elements.
Volvo Trucks | Multitruck for Agricultural Purposes
The Multitruck from A&T Nutzfahrzeuge will be presented at Agritechnica. The vehicle, based on a Volvo FMX 540, is suitable for both agricultural and road use. The vehicle has a permanent all-wheel drive. Road or LOF approval is possible for the truck up to 60 or 80 km/h. With this, and with its tires in the dimensions up to 445/65R22.5 on the front axle and up to 600/50R22.5 on the rear axle, it is ideally suited for harvesting with immediate pick-up, for example.
John Deere | 6M Series Tractors
John Deere's new 6M tractors will replace the previous 6M, 6MC and 6RC series and include four new four-cylinder models from 90 to 120 HP with a 2.4-m wheelbase. The tractors feature a flat hood that provides unobstructed forward visibility. In addition, the slimmer steering wheel console and the revised panorama window in the cabin roof provide an even better view when working with the front loader or in confined spaces. The shorter wheelbase increases maneuverability - the new four- cylinder models have a turning radius of just 4.35 m. Despite the compact design, the maximum permissible total weight of these full-frame tractors is 10.45 t, resulting in a payload of up to 4.7 t. The 6M series can be equipped with three different transmission variants. The PowrQuad and AutoQuad are four-speed PowerShift transmissions, while the CommandQuad Plus transmission and group change are fully automatic without the need for clutches. Thanks to EcoShift, the top speed of 40 km/h is achieved at a reduced engine speed of only 1590 rpm. AutoClutch also allows the tractor to be easily stopped and started by pressing the brake pedal.
Bosch Rexroth | Fully Integrated Tire Pressure Control
Controlling the tire pressure of harvesters offers many advantages. For example, fuel can be saved for the different driving characteristics on the road and in the field while simultaneously increasing driving stability. In addition, increasing the contact area in the field ensures a reduction in ground pressure and an increase in transmissible tractive force through reduced slip. Until now, however, tire pressure regulation was only possible as a retrofit to the vehicle frame. External piping is cumbersome and susceptible to collisions. With the GFT 8150 TIS (Tire Inflation System), Rexroth now presents a fully integrated solution for tire pressure control for single-wheel drive harvesters. The system fits seamlessly into the machine concept and is conveniently operated from the standard terminal. Tire pressure control is based on the compact travel drive of the Rexroth GFT 8000 series and is also available in combination with the dynamic brake.
MTA | Combination Instruments for Bas¸ak Tractors
All the information, at a glance, at all times - this is also an important prerequisite for drivers of agricultural machinery to be able to work reliably and quickly. The Sanko Group's recently launched Bas¸ak-5120 tractors are therefore equipped with the Revo Plus instrument cluster from MTA. The instrument cluster combines a 4.3" TFT color display with several indicator lights and traditional analog displays. It has a video input that can be connected to a camera installed in the tractor. The instrument cluster offers IP66 protection on the front and IP65 on the rear. The special treatment of the surface against reflections and fingerprints allows optimum readability, even in direct sunlight.
MRS Electronic | CAN Controller
With the MicroPlex CAN controller from MRS, building your own CAN bus-capable power distribution systems on the base of two Micro-280 relays and a drag-and-drop configuration tool is possible. The controller is available in the three versions 7X, 7H and 7L. What is special about it is that the controller can very quickly and easily generate an intelligent system with CAN bus communication from hitherto simple ISO 280 boxes, in which mostly only fuses and common relays are integrated. The CAN bus interface retroactively provides existing systems with diagnostic capabilities. The controller is used in agricultural vehicles with the integrated ISO-280 standard, for example for light/lighting control, valve control, sensor evaluation or engine control.
DewertOkin | Linear Drives for Agricultural Technology
The drive manufacturer DewertOkin is presenting the product portfolio of its new Dewert Agritech division for the first time at Agritechnica. The LD75, LD600 and LD1000 linear drives are available for agricultural machinery with different outputs and equipment options. They are especially designed for flexibility and robustness. Thanks to their compact design, they can even be installed in confined spaces. All drives are equipped with maintenance-free 12- or 24-V DC motors and are designed for use under extreme conditions. Among other things, they have robust die-cast aluminum housings, high temperature resistance, stainless steel push rods and IP69k protection.
MAN Truck & Bus | More Powerful D26 Engine in MAN Trucks
MAN Truck & Bus is exhibiting an agricultural truck based on the MAN TGS 18.510 4x4 BLS at the Agritechnica trade fair in addition to MAN Engines' agricultural engines. In the MAN TGS, the revised D26 engine will be installed in the current Euro 6 version. Compared to the previous version, it offers 10 HP more power and 100 Nm more torque. The new power ratings are thus 430, 470 and 510 HP. The 510-HP all-wheel-drive semitrailer tractor on display will be equipped with 445/65R22.5 front and 600/50R22.5 rear agricultural tires for soil protection, permanent all-wheel drive, a load-sensing hydraulic system on the flywheel auxiliary drive, various trailer couplings and the option of LOF approval as an agricultural and forestry tractor.
BPW Bergische Achsen | Undercarriage Computer with Digital Weighing System
Contractors and farmers can now monitor the total weight and the payload of their trailers non-stop digitally, even while driving: BPW's Agro Hub undercarriage computer controls and measures the use of spreaders, loader wagons and feed mixers. Transport trailers can also dispense with weighing bridges and yard scales. The system can be wirelessly networked and requires no moving mechanics. Sensors permanently record the axle load, speed and direction of rotation of the trailer and determine the total weight of the trailer as well as its daily and total mileage, operating hours, maintenance intervals, and much more. The data can be retrieved either via Isobus without additional terminals in the towing vehicle or simply via Bluetooth: The accompanying app presents the information in easy-to-read graphics on the smartphone or tablet computer. The system simplifies accounting for contractors - either according to weight, hours or other performance parameters.
Bucher Hydraulics | Hydraulic Pumps and Motors
AX pumps and motors from Bucher Hydraulics offer an overall efficiency of up to 94 %, high working pressures of up to 450 bar and very low speeds of 2 to 3 rpm with minimal pulsations. The pumps and motors show their advantages in particular in electrification: Their high efficiency, low noise level, low pressure pulsation and permissible low speeds make them ideal for use in electric and hybrid machines. With hoisting winches and slewing gears, very slow and precise assembly work is greatly improved: the AX series has a start-up efficiency of up to 99 % even under high loads. This eliminates any unwanted breakaway effects.
Continental | Environment Recognition as a Requirement for Automation
The second generation of Continental's ProViu 360 intelligent surround view system is a development that already highlights the potential of smart agricultural machinery in the future. From 2020, the digital camera system will provide the driver with an all-round bird's eye view of their machine in HD resolution on a touch display. In a further step, ProViu 360 becomes intelligent: Valuable additional information such as radar data or tire pressure can be fed into the system. As augmented reality, markings, pictograms or texts are placed directly on the camera image and can be seen in the display. For example, the system can display an indication of the condition of the vehicle, such as tire pressure, as well as obstacles on the ground. This is shown on the screen vividly and highlighted in color.
ZF | Steering Axle
The ZF-Terrasteer (TSA) steering axle series covers almost all 4x4 applications. A high ratio in the planetary drive ensures optimum efficiency, slim axle design, and high ground clearance at high permissible loads. The steering angle of up to 55° ensures high maneuverability combined with minimum ground stress due to the precise steering geometry. The result is a long service life, high tractive effort and versatility. The steering axle is characterized by a flexible, modular design, optionally available with brakes, differential lock and steering angle sensor. The TSA steering axle series currently covers the power range from 60 to 300 HP.
