Abstract
The role of anti-gliadin antibodies was greatly reduced in the diagnosis of celiac disease because of their lack of sensitivity and specificity. We evaluated the specificity of different anti-deamidated gliadin antibodies ELISA in comparison with conventional anti-native gliadin kits. Our study assessed the superiority, in terms of specificity, of anti-deamidated gliadin antibodies, over the conventional antigliadin antibodies for the differential diagnosis of celiac disease.
