Abstract
In this letter, we present an experimental investigation on realization of tunable time delays for a microwave photonic signal by exploiting fast and slow light effects in a distributed-feedback semiconductor laser in an external optical injection-locked scheme. The dependence of tunable time delays on input optical power is revealed. We demonstrate up to 20 ps time delay for a microwave signal at 20 GHz and analyze the influence of operation conditions on the time delay.
