Abstract
The interaction between two (1+1)-dimensional dipole solitons in a weak modulation lattice is studied numerically. Two unstable dipole solitons can form the bound state, and their propagation can be stabilized due to their mutual interaction. The propagation patterns with the interaction are dependent on the interval, relative phase, and input energy of the two dipole solitons. The two poles of the dipole soliton exchanges their energy after the interaction. Under the proper conditions, the interaction force between the two dipole solitons exhibits some properties similar to those between two molecules.
