Abstract

Recent discussion of possible Formula 1 regulation changes for 2011 has emphasised just how little is known about the aerodynamics of slipstreaming. The Centre for Automotive Research at Durham University reveals some of the problems that must be addressed if the potential benefits of those changes are to be harnessed.
