Simulation of engine acoustics — run-up analysis of an Audi V8 engine

Abstract

Advanced computation technologies are applied for the analysis of premium class engines. A simulation method used by dTech Steyr and Audi allows the run-up analysis to be performed for the entire engine speed range, including local damping effects and stochastic excitation.
