Abstract

Aluminium sheet is becoming increasingly established in automotive engineering. However, steel sheet remains the benchmark material with regard to formability. A dramatic improvement in the formability of aluminium sheet can be achieved by using superplastic forming. When used in combination with alloys from AMAG that have been specially optimised for this process, it opens up new potentials.
