Abstract
A new method for separation of the orientational contribution from the vibrational relaxation part in the IR absorption bands of ordered liquid crystals is suggested. The pure rotational relaxation times and intermolecular torques acting on PAA molecules in nematic phase have been calculated from the experimental results.
