Conclusion
Conclusion
In spite of technological and echographic definition progresses of the high frequency mini-probes, we cannot forget that numerous applications are not yet completely validated. The most obvious indication is the parietal extension assessment particularly before mucosectomy, the lymph node extension still seeming controversial. The mini-probes add this advantage to the one of being used in case of stenosis and during conventional ultrasonography. The fragility of these mini-probes with a variable average examination number (about 100) is a serious problem, which should be seriously studied by the manufacturers; public or private hospital budgets badly accepting this type of “heavy” but live-limited equipment.
